Ed Vaizey was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries in May 2010. He is the Conservative MP for Wantage and Didcot.
Education
Ed was educated at Merton College, Oxford.
Political career
He was Shadow Minister for the Arts from 2006 to 2010.
Career outside politics
After university he worked as a political researcher, before training and practising as a barrister. From 1996 to 2004 he was director of a public relations company. In 2004 he became a political speech writer.
