John Derrick

John is a Managing Director and Team Lead for the Private Bank for the United Kingdom at J.P. Morgan. Mr. Derrick is focused on Entrepreneurs, Family Foundations and Endowments.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Mr. Derrick ran a team focused on family offices at Barclays Private Bank and prior to this worked at Lombard Odier, the Swiss private bank. Mr Derrick worked in the alternative investment arm of the Harald Quandt family office, HQ capital where he ran the UK office. John has worked in wealth management since 2005 and prior to this he worked in investment banking at Barclays, Paribas and Goldman Sachs. At Goldman Sachs he was an Executive Director and Head of European Syndicate in Equity Capital Markets.

Mr. Derrick is a Chartered Member of the Securities Institute and holds an MA in Modern History and Modern Languages from Wadham College, University of Oxford. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the National Conservatoire of Wales and is a Governor of the University of South Wales. He chairs Pimlico Opera, which takes music into prisons.

John spent three years in the fine wine business at Bibendum Wine and is a keen collector of Welsh artists.
