Mark Dodgson

Mark Dodgson is secretary general of the British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA), which represents some of the leading fine art and antique dealers in the UK and will shortly celebrate its centenary in 2018.

Mark has two decades’ experience with the association, dealing with many of the vital issues that have affected antique dealers, advising members and liaising with outside parties on the business consequences of those issues.  Among the projects he has worked on were the original introduction of the Temporary Import VAT scheme, the class legal action against the auction houses that resulted in a settlement for British dealers and helping set up the first trade association website containing stock for sale.

Mark has been secretary of the Art Trade Liaison Committee and now serves on the executive committee of the British Art Market Federation.
