Richard Edwards Q.C. is a barrister at 3 Verulam Buildings, Gray’s Inn.
He has advised and represented clients in numerous art-related disputes involving questions of title (including restitution of looted art), attribution (notably the Cardsharps case, Thwaytes v Sotheby’s), and the duties of agents.
Before becoming a lawyer he worked for a dealer in Old Master and British pictures and has a long-standing interest in art and the art market.
Richard read English at Trinity College, Cambridge, and occasionally gives lectures to the Art, Law and Business M.Sc. programme at Christie’s Education.
